Exploring the wonders of the natural world thru the camera lens
Photography found me in 1986 on a trip to Yellowstone National Park. The scenery of Grand Teton and the wildlife of the Yellowstone had a major effect on me. From that point on I wanted to see, experience, and photograph the natural wonders of America. Living in California at the time, I started learning photography along the coast and expanding to wonderful Yosemite. When we retired and moved to the Pacific Northwest a whole new set of vistas opened up for my photographic journey. Even 40 years later my passion, my hobby for exploring has not diminished. I can’t wait to find that next image.
“I fell in Love with photography in 1988 during a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Since then watching and photographing the natural world has become my passion. My greatest joy is sharing my experiences through my photography. As you look through my images my hope is that you can feel a little bit of what I was feeling when I tripped the shutter. I have always felt that a print on the wall is a good way to remind ourselves of the wonders of the world around us!!!”
The Process
I work with digital photography. My goal in presenting my vision of the natural world is to present it with very little manipulation. I believe what we see is more wondrous without adding to it. I do some processing in Lightroom to try and make the image what I saw and felt at the time.
